(visited the community bookshop this afternoon to inquire about volunteer opportunities. luckily, the volunteer coordinator was in, so I chatted with her & she added me to the next orientation on the spot! I've been knocking on doors and applying for jobs, only to get ghosted 90% of the time, so it's strange to have this process move so quickly. I walked away in slight disbelief. a reminder that things can be simple. and if it's a yes, it's a yes.)
